The saucers were due in ten days. They're early.
Fly low over a cratered moon with the Earth hanging in the sky, then through neon cities at night, and shoot the saucers down before they carry the colonists off. Every hit raises your multiplier, up to ×8. Let one get past and it drops back to ×1.
- Two pilots to choose from, Gem and Metis, with Clyde on the radio from flight control.
- Four kinds of saucer, each worth a different score. Rescue a colonist for 250 times your multiplier.
- Two bonus games on the way home: Simple Sloth, a water slide, and Fennario Station, a retro arcade game.
- One-thumb flight stick on a phone; arrow keys or WASD and Space on a keyboard.
- Install it to the home screen and it plays offline. No ads, no accounts, no data collected.
How it’s built
A moon without a noise library
The valley, craters and highlands are made in code from sums of sine waves, then lit by custom shaders for the ground and sky.
Glow, then speed
Neon cities get a bloom pass through three.js post-processing. The game watches its own frame time, and if a phone can't hold 45 frames a second it lowers the resolution until it can.
Endless cities, reused
Buildings you've flown past are moved ahead of you and used again, so the city never runs out and the phone never fills up.
Sound made on the fly
Every sound effect is generated live with Web Audio; there isn't a single sound-effect file. Music and about 26 recorded voice lines play over the top.
22 models, squeezed
Ships, saucers and pilots made in Meshy and compressed with gltf-transform (meshopt and WebP) so the game loads quickly on a phone.
An app from the browser
A web app manifest and a service worker make it installable and playable offline, with no store in between.
